In the Wee, Still Hours
Starting a new business is tough, even if it's one you love. I've been putting in some extremely long hours ever since January, but I hadn't realized quite how bad it's gotten until the other night.

I've been on lone kid duty for four days now while Jon is at the Final Four in St. Louis. I haven't gotten much done. Well, I did go to two birthday parties, as well as a birthday dinner at Chuck E Cheese. And I've watched The Incredibles 39 times. In between getting sippy cups of juice and sitting on the footstool in the bathroom because a couple of the other inhabitants of this house are scared of being on the potty alone too long, I managed to finally get over to the CSS Zen Garden.
Speaking of women…I read an interesting quote in Molly Holzschlag's Women Bloggers Just Ain't Good Enough:
Here's a different explanation for why the blogosphere is dominated by white males: because they're the ones producing the best product. Sorry, ladies, but there aren't as many of us engaged in aggressive, competitive opinionizing and nonstop consumption of politics as our male tormentors. --Heather MacDonald
I went to a birthday party for a friend last night. Shortly after arriving, I walked up to a group of women, and one of them said, "Oh, aren't you the one who writes?"
I gave the all-purpose shrug. "Not anymore. I gave it up a while ago."
"Oh? So what are you doing now?"
"I'm in web design."
I was having trouble getting SSIs to work on this site. Usually my host is good about stuff like that, but maybe they were having an off week. Unfortunately, I really wanted to include a list of links on my sidebar, but didn't want to hardcode them in as I expect them to change fairly frequently. I needed to find a work-around.
